I am trying to obtain a list of needed parts to rebuild my 6 speed manual transmissions 2nd gear. It will no longer go into second gear, and I need to fix it. I have already replaced the clutch and master and slave cylinders that did nothing so now I need to now go into the transmission.

Hi,

I wish I had a direct answer for you, but there really isn't a list that I have available. This is usually because either you would purchase an overhaul kit that would include bearings, gaskets, o-rings, and so on.

However, in most cases, the transmission is disassembled and inspected for damage that is causing the problem.

Tell me, did this happen all at once? Can you place it in gear at all even when the engine is off? What does it do when trying to engage 2nd gear? Is there anything odd when you shift to first? I ask because the shift fork for 1st and 2nd gears is the same one.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks for the reply,

So here is the real issue. I had to get my transmission repaired about a year and a half ago and the shop took the transmission apart and found out that my, I'm assuming flywheel and whatever else engages the second gear was completely shredded. It was in the shop because my engine mounts had broken, and it had broken a few hoses in the process. So, I took it in for the engine mounts and told them while it was there could they look at my transmission. They pulled it apart fixed it and gave it back to me. My car has now been in an accident due to the hurricane Ian and my insurance company will repair my car if I can provide proof of the work, I had done to my car back in 21. However, I have lost the receipt and the shop refuses to produce me with a copy. The work was around $3,200.00 and if I can provide my insurance company with something like a receipt, they can fix my car. So, I'm looking for a parts list so that I can create a fake receipt so I can get my car fixed.

If anyone can help me out or has any idea what was done based on the story and the fact that the shop, I took it to is a local shop who says they cut me a deal any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
