Ok, so on the way home today, I noticed a sudden stiffness in my gear stick going into any gear, and a sudden LOUD rattling/spinning sound, but when u push the clutch pedal in, the sound goes away. And I couldnt put my car in any gear I was stuck in the street and couldnt push it into the 1st slot or any it was stuck in neutral. Is this a bad clutch? Its at a shop right now and he said its a bad clutch but I wanna know any other opinions that would back him up on this so I can feel more comfortable spending 700$ on this repair.

The throw-out bearing release fork is broken.

Transmission has to come out, so you might as well do the clutch at that point. The fork is part of the clutch system, but is not included in a clutch kit.
