I disconnected the positive terminal on the battery to replace a starter on the car listed above (Ls sedan) and now won't start after reconnecting the positive terminal on the battery. So can you help me please?

Good evening,

First, you disconnect the negative cable first. It is the first one-off and the last one on.

Most likely the security system needs to be reset. I attached a guide for you below for the procedure.

Also, it could be a bad starter motor itself even though it is a replacement. I attached a wiring diagram of the system for you as well. Check the small wire on the solenoid for power with the key in the start position.

Okay, did you try the reset procedure I sent you? It does sound like the system forgot the password.

You may have to do the reset procedure for the security system. I attached that in my initial response.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-car-battery

I attached the procedure for replacing the battery. It is located in the trunk rather than under the hood.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Okay, then check for power to the starter with the key in the start position. The little wire on the solenoid is the one that needs the power to activate the starter motor.

Check that wire for power.

Did you check the voltage at the wire for the starter as I suggested? If you have power, the starter motor is the issue.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-a-starter-and-solenoid-works

If you do not then we need to do some testing.

I attached the procedure for replacing the starter motor below for you.

I got my car listed above Ls sedan towed to a Chevrolet dealership so they could put on a new starter and new battery and when they tried to start my car nothing happen. So then they ran a diagnosis test to find the problem. It was a bad positive wire going to the starter and a bad ground wire going to the starter and now my car runs great.
