I have changed the cabin air filter as it appeared to be clogged. The A/C compressor and the cooling fan seem to be working properly. Just from looking at the A/C condenser from outside of the grille it seems to have some dirt but not much for me to considered it clogged, do I have to remove the grille and inspect it more further? If not what else can I do to try and resolve this issue?

Good afternoon,

Can you give the high and low side readings for the A/C while it is running? I need to see the actual pressures.

Let's start with the pressure readings before going further. If you do not have a set of gauges, you can rent them at a parts store.

The low side pressure port was cool to touch and the high side pressure point was hot to touch. If that helps.

I could have been using the gauge set wrong although I doubt it as I was following a guide I found online and used various others to confirm what I read. But just in case would you provide me with the steps you use to ensure proper pressure readings?

The high reading is way too high. It should be two times ambient temperature plus 15%.

If it gets too high, there is a blockage in the system somewhere. The condenser is the most common area where it will clog up.

I would recover the Freon and blow through the condenser to see if it is restricted.

It will need to be removed and sent to a radiator shop that can clean it with the proper equipment.
