Trunk flooded from bad seal when it rained now car won’t start. Took battery out had it tested then put on a slow charge over night. When trying to start it acts like the fuel system is flooded, but not sure because I’m not a expert at all.

Good afternoon.

How do you mean it sounds like it is flooded?

Does the engine crank over fast enough? Do you have a voltmeter to test the battery voltage?

Have you checked for spark and can you hear the fuel pump run?

Yes, the engine is cranking over fast enough and I don t have a volt meter to test the battery. But I took the battery to have it tested and then had it out on a slow charge over night because the battery was weak before doing so. When I turn the ignition all the to run without starting it I do hear a humming sound for about five seconds. I m by far a mechanic just able to troubleshoot and change out more obvious issues but this has so many different possibilities that I need to ask before I change anything.

Wow, I don't know what that stuff is, but that concerns me.

Is it hard like plastic or is it soft?

I would check the compression to be sure none of that stuff got to the valves and has them hung up.

It s a soft liquid like it s a mix of water gas and oil feel. It s my mother in laws car so I do not know much of how it has been maintained and driven. I ll have the compression checked and also check the the spark plugs to see if there is power getting to them. Thank you for replying and your help.
