I have the truck listed above it will not start. I've put a new alternator, battery, and starter on it and also a throttle position sensor and a cam sensor. How do I know if it's the fuel filter or the fuel pump? Or could it be the timing? To begin with it just shut off while going down the road, got a boost started it but ran very rough, got about blocks and shut off again. Went and got a new battery and it started but then ran rough, made it 12 or so miles before it completely shut off.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

However, does the engine crank but not start? Meaning when you turn the engine the starter works but the engine will just not fire?

If the engine doesn't even turnover then we need to make sure the engine is not locked up. Use a wrench and try to turn the motor over by hand using the crank pulley bolt.

If the engine turns over but doesn't start then we need to check the fuel pressure.

Then we need to check the compression.

Please run through this material and let us know and we can go from there. Thanks
