Friend just purchased the car and driving it home it began to overheat. That's all the information I have. Is it possible the radiator fans have an electric short?

Good afternoon,

The fans are primarily for when the car is not moving. It will pull air through the radiator to cool it down.

This could more likely a thermostat or coolant issue.

Any prior work done?
