There is a long story with the truck, trying to fix a lot of things with it. Right now, I am not getting any power to the fuel pump. I've looked at all the relays and the all work. I've tried bypassing it to see as well. The pump works, I've tested it as well off the truck. I'm not sure where else to look.

Hi,

If you are able to turn the fuel pump on by jumping the relay, we need to check things at the relay itself. If you have a different relay with the same part number, switch them to see if it works. If you don't, here is a link that explains how to test a relay:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-an-electrical-relay-and-wiring-control-circuit

Now, if you look below, I attached a pic of the relay wiring schematic. I need you to first confirm both of the fuses I highlighted. In addition to confirming the fuses are good, make sure there is power to and from them.

If they are good, remove the relay. On the relay there will be 4 numbers, 30, 85, 86, and 87. Pins 30 and 85 are the power supplies. With the relay removed, determine which connector in the box each pin goes to and confirm pins 30 and 85 have power. Pin 85 will only have power with the key on. Pin 30 will have power at all times.

If these two pins have power, the last thing left (based on the idea you were able to jump it) is there is no ground path being provided by the PCM (pin 86). When you turn the key to start the vehicle, the PCM provides a ground to pin 86 completing the circuit on the primary side of the relay. When that happens, an electromagnet is energized closing the switch on the secondary side allowing power to run from pin 30 to 87, powering the pump.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

Also, let me know if you have checked the auto shutdown (ASD circuit as well.

Take care and let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Joe

Sorry it has taken me so long; I work a lot and don't get a lot of time to work on things. I am not sure what you me that I have jumped the relay, I didn't jump the relay to make the pump work. I put a new pump in and got everything put back together and had no fuel pressure and so I removed the tank and pump off the truck. I then thought that I should make sure that the pump worked, and it does. I jumped two leads from a battery, and it turns on and pumped fuel onto my floor. I also don't believe that there is an air leak on the tank itself. Now I have gone through everything you wanted me to do except test out the wires but the relays all work. From what I read from the info you gave me it should all be good. But I am not getting any power, that I can see to the end of the pump harness. I have used a multimeter and a test light.

Hi,

If there is power out from the relay to the pump but doesn't make it to the pump motor, then there must be a broken wire. Something is preventing power from getting there.

Do me a favor. I was under the impression that you jumped power at the relay. Remove the fuel pump relay and take a jumper wire and jump pins 87 and 30. If the pump runs, we have a power issue either at the relay or before it. If it doesn't, then we need to trace the power supply to see where power is lost.

Let me know.

Joe

Again, I'd like to say sorry for taking so long to respond. I finally found the problem. I went through everything again and then started to follow the wires back to the gas tank from the fuse box. There was a connection that was in the middle that was not connected, and I have no idea why it would be disconnected since I drove it to where it is sitting. Anyway, I'm sure you will here from me again. Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to know you found the issue. As far as the problem, I suspected you would find a broken wire between the relay and pump. A connector makes it easier. LOL

Regardless, please feel free to come back anytime in the future. You are always welcome.

Take care,

Joe
