Car started running hot due to fan not working so I started turning on the defrost and it was staying cool. Today all of a sudden it started losing speed and when I pulled over it shut off. The gauge was not in the red but it was almost but now it will turn over but not start. What would be wrong with it?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If the engine turns over but does not start, it could be many things. No spark to the plugs, low or no fuel pressure, a bad crank sensor, a bad head gasket (since it was over heating) and the list goes on. Where I would like to start is with the basics. Take a look through this link. It discusses reasons why an engine will not start. Additionally, it explains how to check the different things that can cause a no start.

Start with that and let me know what you find, need additional information, or have a question.

Take care,
Joe
