The fan speed knob in my truck started malfunctioning a short while ago. It started with only the number 3 and 5 setting not working and eventually ended in none of the settings working. Is this a blower motor malfunction or something like a wiring harness? I'm stuck.

Its the blower motor resistor causing your problem

I replaced the blower motor resistor and the problem remains. The blower worked briefly then stopped. I moved the resistor around a bit and it worked again for a few seconds. It seems to be a short, but where? There is a wiring harness that attaches to the resistor. Maybe its the wiring. Stuck again.

Sound like you have bad terminal tension at the connector. Replace it and see if it is fixed
