Cranks over strong and starter sounds fine. Tested fuel rail and gas comes out. Changed coil, wouldn't start, put old one back on and it started and drove fine. Next day wouldn't start.

Hi,

We need to check a couple of things. First, when you have a crank no start condition, usually it is either loss of ignition spark to the plugs or a fuel issue. The easiest way to check this is to see if it will start a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then we know it is a fuel-related issue. If it doesn't change, then it is likely ignition-related.

If you would rather, here are two links. The first explains in general how to check fuel pressure. The second is for testing for ignition spark.

Also, here is a link that explains the most common causes of a crank no start condition:

Pic 1 below shows the manufacturer's specifications for fuel pressure.

If you find there is no spark, I suspect it could be a bad or faulty crankshaft position sensor. Take a look through this link. It explains common symptoms of a faulty crankshaft position sensor.

If you have no spark and that link mirrors what you experience, here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/crankshaft-angle-sensor-replacement

If you find the sensor is bad, I attached the directions and pics below specific to your vehicle for sensor replacement. See pics 2 and 3.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
