My car listed above is a hatchback. I had the battery and alternator checked by AutoZone, and tried tapping the starter to get it working, and tried jumping it as well. Tried jiggling the key in the ignition switch, to no avail. Battery terminals look slightly corroded, but the radio, headlights, dashboard and windshield vipers all work.

Not sure what the problem is, was hoping for some advice on what else to check. Thank you.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

First, if you turn the headlights on and try to start it, do they dim? If they do, remove and clean the battery terminals.

If that isn't happening, check the fuse and relay for the starter. I attached a picture for you to help locate them.

Here are a few links to help with that:

If none of that checks bad, I need you to check for power to the starter motor. Here are directions for testing that:

If you are not getting power to the starter, then we need to jump to the switch on the clutch. I attached a pic below. Check if there is power to one side of the switch at the top of the clutch pedal. When you depress the clutch, power should be at both wires.

Do these things and let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe
