Ford Ranger 2003 wont start in hot weather. Starts fine in the morning but by afternoon 95 + temp wont start. Crankes fine. I cant hear the fuel pump on a no start situation. Can a fuel pump perform in the lower temps and not perform in higher temps? I did swap the relay with the AC relay still no start.

Yes temp can effect pump operation. Does MIL light come on? Cam or crank sensor also effected by temp

Mil light CELight comes on as always during start sequence then goes away on a normal start (cooler temps). The truck does continue to run well in hot weather if it was started ealrier in the day(cooler)

Had codes ran a week ago indicating MAF sensor however I had attempted a start with the MAF unplugged while trouble shooting and that might have thrown the code.

2003 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Automatic

My husband has a 2003 Ford Ranger that will not start and makes a fast clicking sound when trying to start it. We replaced the battery and the starter to no avail. Any suggestions. Everything else we checked seems to be in good condition.

Well I guess this was something very simple after all. We changed the battery terminals because they were very corroded and wala it magically works now. Thanks for all of your help.

2003 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Warm engine. After driving for awhile, stopped the car for maybe 5 minutes. Car starts again, but stalls in park. Engine cranks, but won't start. Won't start again until engine cools for around 30 minutes. No check engine lights.

WHen it doesn't start, have you checked to see if it is getting spark and fuel to the engine or is missing both?
