My heat is on high my temperature gauge goes over to the hot section?

While sitting at lights are when my heat is on high my temperature gauge goes over to the hot section, but while I am driving it stays it stays normal. What may be the problem?

It sounds like the cooling fan are not working because of a relay or the fan motor is burned out. Here two guides to help us see what going on and get the problem fixed:
