Alright at the neutral safety switch you should have power to the black wire with a yellow stripe and the black wire with a red stripe with the key in the start position?

2000 Mitsubishi Galant that keeps blowing fuses for the dome lights and power mirrors. I went to the gas station to get gas and filled up and then the car would not start. I has it jump started and it was fine, I didn't have a problem with it since. The fuses blow out have been an issue since getting the car and it acts up over the last year. Any idea what could be wrong

How often does the fuse blow?Does it blow while using the power mirror?Or while opening the door and the dome light comes on?The more details about the fuse blowing the better.

P1610 = Immobilizer system malfunction.

If you have a spare key, use it to try starting and see if it works.

To retrive the actual trouble code for the immobilizer, MUT-II, scanner specifically for Mitshubishi is required.

Hi,

My 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ran fine for the amount of miles it had, however coming home from work it just didn't engaage in gear and went in sort of of a nuetral roll. I was able to pull over onto a side street from the neutral roll. The car starts and engine runs. When the car is put into gear (drive, reverse etc.) It basically does nothing or goes anywhere. I checked the ATF fluid and while there is some fluid on the dipstick it doesn't seem like much. When revving the engine in gear I am hearing like a whilstling sound. I was going to add 2-3 quarts of ATF fluid in hopes of it just not having enough fluids. Any advice? Thanks.

Thanks Roy. Would that be a blown transmission? Hoping that it is not.

One last question. I had intended to add three quarts of transmission fluid in hopes that it would have been low on fluid and run thereafter. Could that be an alternative? Or just take it to an auto repair shop?
