Driving home car went into limp mode and engine light came on. Car had no acceleration past 16mph. Now sat on drive and it tries to start but can't. I've got these error codes:

P0609
P0108
P0711
P1B00

Any help appreciated Thank you

Hi,

Sounds to me like its an electrical issue.

The P0609 is: "Control Module VSS Output B Malfunction" which means that the computer is sees a fault with the signal from one of the vehicle speed sensors.

P0108 means the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor circuit shows a voltage high condition which explains the poor engine performance.

P0711 means the Transmission fluid temperature sensor A is out of range which could explain the limp mode

and P1B00 is Camshaft profile control Circuit Low condition. Which could explain the limp mode and poor performance.

I find it highly suspicious that all of these sensors would up and stop working at the same time, so its my guess that that we may have a wiring problem that is related to all of those sensors.

Can you tell me if anything happened to the vehicle shortly before this all happened? For instance did you drive through deep water? Did an object hit the underside of the car etc. Is there anything you think of?

Regards
Jon

Hi Jon thank you for replying. I've only had the car a month but start up has been hit and miss so I bought a new battery still no better. The fuse box in the dash constantly clicks, my jet washers have stopped too. I haven't been through water or bumped underneath so I don't know? Will it cost a lot to get put right do you think?

Good afternoon,

The fact that the fuse block is clicking tells me you have wiring issues there.

I would do a wiggle test on the harness around the fuse block to see if you can get the motor to act differently. If it does, then you will need to remove the fuse block and check the connections.

I posted a guide on the mass air flow for you as well. Check the connector to be sure it is clean and tight.

I attached a guide on the cam system as well. Verify you have reference voltage to the sensor. You need 5 volts.
