Car was running fine one night. Got up next day and tried starting car and got nothing. Wouldn't crank or start. So far I've changed the starter and battery. The ignition was changed out but I sill have original key I put by the halo so it'll read that key. Security light isn't blinking or anything. The fuel pump is sounding.

Hi,

If the starter isn't engaging, it could be a few things.

Try placing the transmission in neutral to see if it will start. The transmission range sensor may have failed and the vehicle thinks it is in gear.

if that doesn't work, I need you to check fuse number 8 in the underhood fuse box. It is a 30 amp fuse. In addition to checking the fuse, make sure there is power to and from it. Here is a link that you may find helpful:

If that checks good, next check the starter relay in the central junction box on the left side of the dash. If there is a relay having the same part number, switch them. If there isn't, here is a link showing how to test one:

If that checks good, then I need you to check for power to the gray wire on the starter. It should only have 12v when the key is in the start position. You will need a helper for this. Here is a link that shows how to test this:

I attached the wiring schematic for the starting system below so you have a reference.

Additionally, pics 3 and 4 are of the battery fuse box (underhood) and the central junction box (under left side of dash). I highlighted the fuse and relay to check.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
