Check the circuit you connected the fan to. They draw quite a bit of current, it is very possible that the circuit you connected the fan to could not handle the load and burned out. Look for burnt fusible links or other visible damage.

2003 Focus that has been running very rough at startup, usually around 5 seconds, then seems to idle fine. Now it will not start, but turns over fine. If a turn on the key for a few seconds, then start it, it will run for maybe 2 seconds and die. Any suggestions?

my 2001 ford focus wagon SE won't turn over. I have power, battery seems fine but it won't turn over, no clicking or other noises. Happened yesterday morning (20 below temperature) as well, it started but when I shut it off and tried a minute later I got nothing. I disconnected the battery and let it sit for a 30 minutes to see if it would reset some car theft security thing or something and then it started. Last night I moved the car into the driveway and when I tried an hour later it had the same problem and this morning it still doesn't start. Any suggestions?

Could be the starter, starter relay, transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery condition and connections are good.

Engine problem
2001 Ford Focus Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 147400 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I recently purchased my first car, Ford Focus LX 147,000 miles, first couple of weeks did not have any problems but after my dealership put transmission bolts in and switched out a fuse in my panel, my car started turning over but not cranking. It will finally start after about 4-5 tries (sometimes it starts right away), but sometimes it sputters after it cranks up like it is ready to turn off. I can hear (if that makes sense) the fuel pump come on, and my mother's boyfriend believes it needs a new fuel filter, but I am unsure of what it could be. Any ideas?

With this many miles it leave me wondering if its time for a tune up
Check the car for a tune up first

Hi. The car stalled while I was turning. Now it wont even start. I checked the fuel pump & filter and they both seem fine. I changed the spark plugs & wires. Checked the battery...it's good. What could possibly be wrong with my car??? Please help!

Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation and selecting us as your auto repair site. Feel free to ask questions at anytime-

Do you have a check engine light On or flashing prior to this problem?

If the engine's condition is in tip top shape-do below to determine if its fuel or spark problem that's if its cranking over and refuses to start

Fuel and Spark:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 in away from ground have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor /distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, ECM,Ignitor camshaft and crankshaft sensors and computer. Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

Compression:

If both correct fuel pressure and snapping blue spark is present-check engine compression could be a valve and ignition timing, issue -this will lead you to problems with compression and valves opening and closing at the wrong time/broken or jumped timing belt/chain

I replaced the timing belt and worked on the back window, becuase it had came of track. Now the car engine will not turn to start. My question is, is there a button I can push to reset the antitheft system. The alarm light stops blinking when the key is inserted and turned. IF no button, what could be the problem?
