Okay, I was driving the car and all at once it was like you just shut the key off. Now it just cranks over and acts like it is out of time. Is there anything else other than the timing chain slipping or breaking that could cause it to do this all at once? It also had a noise sounded like something hitting on metal internally, but it sounded like it was in the transmission instead of engine. I do know for sure though. Where and what would be your best suggestion to start checking at to find the problem?

The first thing we can do to see if the timing chain is the problem is do a compression test. this will tell us if the pistons and valves are in time.

Please let us know what you find.
