2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona edition; starting and dieing

I have a pontiac 2000 grand prix daytona edition, the problem ive been having with is that it starts and runs for a min or so and then dies out. I just recently replaced the eshust system from front to back including a new O2 sensor. Last night I did notice that the fuel line directly after the fuel filter has a leak, when I fix that will that solve the starting and the dieing problem?

If the fuel pump can't maintain fuel pressure (because of the leak) it could be the problem. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from. Most parts stores will do it for free.
