Around 6 months ago I hit a curb going around 35-40 mph. During impact I flattened out my driver side tire and bent my steal wheel. I got all wheels replaced with aluminum. My problem is the wheel will shake/vibrate when going normal speeds and then it will stop and continue again. The wheel will also vibrate when I'm braking suddenly (to get off the Express way) after getting my rack and pinion replaced and alignment after the accident the wheel will shift to the side slightly. Is there anything I could have damaged to cause the vibration?

Hello,

You might want to check the brake rotor and the tie rod ends to make sure that either one is bent. This sounds like you could have a bad wheel bearing or a tire that is out of balance, though. To check for a failing wheel bearing, jack up the car and support it on jack stands. Here is a link to go to for how to do that:

Grab the tire you want to check the wheel bearing on and try to move the top of the wheel towards the vehicle and then the bottom of the wheel away from the vehicle. If there is any play at all in the wheel then the wheel bearing is bad and needs to be replaced. Here is a link for you to go to:

The tires you can take back to where you purchased them and have the balanced. Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
