Roy definitely knows his stuff. Personally, I always get the whole assembly/module. The are too many variables with just replacing the pump and if you don't get it perfect then you'll be taking it apart again in a week. If you want to save some money, try checking Ebay and Amazon too. But just bear in mind that you get what you pay for.

Oh my goodness I think i'm finally done. I was hard headed and allowed AutoZone to order me the pump only and it was the wrong one, which I found out the next day.
So skiddish I took my time ordering the full assembly because I was also confronted with a water pump issue but as of this morning its all done.
But I could not get the locking ring back in place so after trying all night I decided to remove the gasket(which seemed to big) and I got the ring secured. I'm hoping that does not come back to haunt me.
This hose I broke doing the water pump. Can anyone identify it? I don't think it's the breather hose as suggested but I could be wrong again. Thanks guys.

Bought it from a guy that said he thinks fuel pump is not working. Took home charged up battery and cleaned connections, started right up. Drove around block a few times, working great then all of a sudden it started running rough and shut off. Now will not start. Turns over fine. Possible fuel pump acting up? Thanks. Scott.

Hello, I am Danny.

Have you check the fuel pressure on the fuel rail at the Schrader valve? You might want to check the pump pressure first as the fuel pump may be weak. Your local auto parts stores (Pep Boys,O'Reilly's, Autozone) have a tool loaner program and can rent you one. I would try this first. I have attached a tutorial show what is involved in the testing. Fuel Pressure should be 35-65 P.S.I. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

My car for about 3 months now radomly will not start. It cranks but will not turn over. I have a new alternator, battery, tuneup, changed fuel filter, got my transmission rebuilt at the beginning of this year, and a new starter. I have had my car towed to 2 diffent car shops and when they get it it starts right up for them and checked for codes and not finding anything. They think my fuel pump might be going out but they dont want to charge me for it if they dont know forsure cause its $737.00 and it could be something else making it not start. Someone told me that for my year and make for my car that their was a recall years ago for the fuel pump. Is that true? Its a 2.5 engine V6 automatic. If thats true, can I get it still replaced for free? What else could it be that would be making it not wanting to start? I have put in alot of money on this car! I love my car and dont want to get rid of it. I bought it used about a year ago and just recenty have been having this problem and right now, since the fuel filter has been changed last week. Its been sittting for a week and wont turn over at all now? PLEASE HELP! Thanks Tonia

Lets confirm first. A fuel pump pressure test will be a good start. Lets go one by one and not guess as it is expensive and most of the time wrong

What noise is it making? Clicking noise? Or cranking noise like it is trying to start?

If clicking noise, check charging system and starter.

If cranking but no start, check for spark at the plugs and test fuel pressure with gauge at fuel rail.

Thanks for using 2carpros. Com !
