Cranks but will not start

Hello, I replaced the head gasket, set my timing correct but it will not start.
Spark and fuel is there.
I came across that when my crank marks are aligned my piston on number one cylinder is not yet on TDC. My diagnostic tool says my spark is on advance timing of 1.5 degrees.

If you have spark and fuel, it should run. That tells me either timing is incorrect or there is no injector pulse triggering the fuel injectors. Will the engine start for a couple seconds if you use starting fluid?

Lets do some testing first. Let me know if it starts with starting fluid. If it does, I need you to do the following checks:

Fuel injector test:

If they are working, I need you to check engine compression:

These engines are known as interference engines. If the belt broke, there is a good chance valve damage was done to the cylinder head. That is why I am questioning compression.

I attached a picture of the timing belt and marks. Confirm it was installed correctly.

Thank you very much for your help. My injectors have pulse yes because when I remove my spark plugs they are wet after cranking for a while. I think my engine has no compression, as I turn my engine by hand it turns freely and the only time I feel tension is when my number one piston is about to reach TDC. Thinking of replacing the compression rings.

Hi again,

If you have no compression, either you have bent valves or the timing is way off. Did the timing belt break or are you replacing it as a preventative maintenance item? If it broke, I have a feeling you bent valves and that is why there is no compression. Let me know if there is zero compression. And no, you should not be able to turn it easily by hand. If you are certain the timing is correct and again, no compression, you need to remove the cylinder head and inspect the valves. Let me know if you need directions, have questions or anything. Sorry, did not answer your questions.
Had a blown head gasket and replaced it. Had burnt pistons on cylinder numbers one, three and five and replaced them too. The problem came that I used old piston rings. My timing is right.

Hello everyone.

I have replaced my piston rings, new head gasket and my timing is right. When I crank the engine it makes a buffing sound as if it wants to start but nothing. I have realized that when I switch the key on all my gauges go up but as soon as I crank my fuel gauge goes down. I have checked for spark, fuel, everything seems to be there.
Please help.

Hello Mr Ken.
I did a compression test my cylinders have no compression, but when I poured oil into the cylinders my compression got higher and my timing is out on the intake cam with one tooth. Could this cause the reason for low compression or could it be that it is because of my piston rings? As of I only oiled the cylinder walls and the piston rings where dry. Should I replace my piston rings and oil the before putting them back?

I would fix the intake camshaft timing first. Here is a diagram of how the marks should be:

Hello guys.

I came to the main cause of losing compression. Removed my cylinder head poured petrol on top of my valves. They where leaking especially the exhaust valves. Now I am doing the valve job.
