1965 Volkswagen Beetle gas in oil

1965 Volkswagen Beetle 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual? Miles

I have gas in my oil what would cause this? I replaced the fuel pump and that didn't help.

Lets say the fuel pump's OK, is this bug hard to start? If you have been cranking it a lot, it may be washing part the rings.

I opened the crankcase and tried to start engine, raw gas drained out of it. I think it might be the rings. Thanks
