Engine shut off when transmission was shifted into gear and Code P1704

I may have a different one. Mine is smaller and only has 4 balls. I was told a 5th ball may still be in the transmission. This is the only thing holding me back from getting my truck back on the road and I desperately need it.

That was the only diagram for the transmission in our information system.

I would go on line and go ATSG. That is a company that makes manuals for all transmissions and has great break downs for everything. They also have a tech line for you to call with any questions.

So, I've replaced everything and it's still doing the same thing, maybe not as bad. I don't know anything about torque converters, which I think is next step. However, I don't want to cave and take it to a garage, this woman is running out of options.

I would at least take it to a shop and tell them what you have done and get there suggestions. They can do pressure tests to see where the issue is located.
