My car after work wouldn't shift past second gear, I shut my car of and turned it back on again and it shifted but when I press the brakes and stopped it went back and seem to be stuck in second. Engine was running at 3,500 RPM's just to get 50 mph.

This is called limp mode. Do you have a check engine light on? Either way we need to start with checking for codes.

Once we know what codes are there we can determine what to do. If there are no codes then we need to check the fluid level and condition. If that checks out then we most likely have a shift solenoid issue.

Let us know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks

The check engine light came on for a brief moment but by the time I got to O'Riley's to have it checked it turned off and my fluids are topped off.

Okay. So when this issue happens the check engine light does come on? Did they find any codes? I would expect there to be stored codes so did they check?

If not, we need to stop back by and have them scan it. Then this does sound like a solenoid issue but I would want some more proof to go on so let's clarify this and go from there. Thanks
