Good morning,

Sounds like you may have either a failed head gasket or a failed timing belt.

I would start with a compression test.

Also, you need to have a leak down test done to see if compression is leaking into the cooling system.

Dear Roy, thank you for your advice. The mechanic did the compression test and one piston is frozen, so they've soaked it and will see today if all is not lost. Also they, discovered a hole in the radiator, the coolant reservoir was full. The question is, is it worth high expense to repair?

You are welcome.

I would consider a used engine instead of repairing the engine.

You would be looking at $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 for a used engine installed but the repair could be two times that amount.

Hi Roy, so appreciative for your guidance. Am investigating with mechanic. Thanks for being there to help. This is my starving artist/musician son's car and your suggestion would alleviate worries of further catastrophic repairs. God bless you and your work.
