Replaced air conditioning compressor and it doesn't work

Our AC air compressor went out and we bought a replacement. Switched out the compressors, refilled the Freon (R whatever is the stuff) and let it cycle. The new compressor started to switch on and off, the it stopped running. It is not seized, just not running. Checked the fuse box to check the fuse and there is no fuse in the number five slot for it, but it has been running prior to the compressor going out. Question is, where else would the fuse be? Went through the Haynes manual, and cannot find a solution. Can you help us please?

What happened to the original compressor? Have you tested the low and high pressure switches? How much R134A did you add to the system? Is it still showing pressure?
If you apply twelve volts to the clutch does it engage then?

Old compressor was original to the truck and it seized up. Yes to all. Some one told us to look at the back plug, the two prong plug and move it around. If no response to add a piece of copper wire to it. We are looking for copper wire right now.

Hello,

There is a WOT relay that could have failed on you. Or you have too much refrigerant in the system.
