1994 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Car start then when I tried to restart in would not. Wait about 4 hrs and it restarted. Got home and tried to start car again but would not. Wait about 1/2 hr this time and it start right up. Next day it would not start again, Tried to start car after work 9 hrs later and it started. Went out the next morning and it would not start. Check the starter and it checks out fine. All I get when I try to start the car is nothing but the dash board lights coming on.

All I get when I try to start the car is nothing but the dash board lights coming on. Have helper hold key at start position then bang on the starter-if it kicks over replace the starter if not see below
