I have a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2.3. Last night after work my car would not start. All interior lights come on and headlight will work. But when you put the key in the ignition and turn it nothing happens at all, its like your not even turning it. Im thinking maybe a bad ignition switch.

Watch the headlamps with the key in the start position. If the lites stay bright and no reaction, it sounds like an open circuit to the starter. My first thought was the neutral switch. Could be other issues? You could use a remote starter button at the starter solenoid, the leads might be long enough to get you out from under the vehicle, just to see if the starter will crank, you don't have to use the key. Make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and a functional e-brake is set.

Where applicable, I didn't look at your security system?
