I bought the car listed above used off someone with an overheating issue thinking it would be something simple to fix. I’ve tried everything it feels like. I’ve changed the thermostat, thermostat gasket, radiator hoses, radiator, and it has clean coolant in it. There’s no sign of water in the cylinders or oil so I don’t think it’s a blown head gasket or cracked head. If it’s running and. The radiator cap is off you can see the coolant moving and bubbling so that makes me think the water pump is fine but as soon as you drive it literally a mile down the road it overheats. I cannot fix it and I’ve ran out of ideas. Any help would be very much appreciated. The cars in good shape no stains or ripped seats, body’s in decent shape. So I don’t want to scrap it but if I can’t fix it it might come down to that. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon,

The fact it has air bubbles tells me you may have a failed head gasket. It does not have to put coolant in the oil. It could just be burning off.

You need to have someone do a leak down test on the cylinders. That is when the plugs are removed and air injected into the cylinders one at a time and watch for the coolant to move in the system.
