Engine stalling

V8 front wheel drive automatic.

My car has recently developed a problem with stalling while driving. The engine just shuts off and no matter how much I press the gas, it will not respond, almost as if the ignition was shut off. The battery light on the dash comes on, as if the car is in accessory mode. I have only seen it do it at or above operating temperature (200 degrees). What could be the problem?

Hello,

This sounds like the fuel pump went out. Here is a guide to help you see how to test it:

Please run this test and get back to us.
