A/C not blowing cold air

Fan works, blows air but no cold air. Heater works fine. Was assured that previous owner would have added Freon if that were the problem. What is most likely culprit? Bad compressor or needs recharge of Freon?

Good morning.

The first step is to get a set of gauges and see what the pressures are for the Freon system.

Do you have a set of gauges to check the system? If not, you can rent a set at a parts store.

Does the compressor engage when you turn on the AC?
