About a month ago my car started making a popping or clicking noise when turning the wheel while driving. At first, being a female, I thought nothing of it and blocked it out. Now on the other hand it has gotten alot louder and does more pops or clicks than it did before. How long does it take for one of those joints to give out and stop working? What will happen? Would it be bad to keep driving with it like that?

Hi there,

There is no time frame on C.V failure, they may last a long time before they let go. When it fails you stop, simple as that. If it fails at speed, you may do more serious damage, as the flailing shaft may destroy something else, this may also affect your steering and stability, (scary stuff at speed) Normally a C.V. Will fail when working as designed, sharp turns like parking in a car park, it will break and you will stop. So I would be a good idea to have them repaired or replaced ASAP.
