Ran on low oil, now has steady knock that sounds deep inside engine. Question: If this is a wrist pin, a crank bearing or a main bearing, is there any chance I will be able to gain access through the oil pan, without pulling the engine, to make repairs?

Hello,

If it is a Main or Rod Bearing you shouls be able to get to them by removing the Oil Pan.

If Wrist Pin then not sure you will be able to remove Piston from bottom do to Crank Shaft.
