Car was missing and then it would not start at all. Have replaced plugs crank sensor, cam sensor and coils. Still fires but will not start.

Good afternoon,

Are there any codes stored in the PCM?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/check-engine-light-top-ten-reasons

Have you tested for fuel pressure? You can try to spray some starting fluid into the air filter and see if it starts and stalls. That will tell us if it is fuel related.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

Did you check for spark?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-an-ignition-system

Lastly, did you test for compression?

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-engine-compression

You need fuel, spark and compression for this to run.

Did you verify spark at the spark plugs?

What was the compression?

He is a mechanic? If the compression is good, then it is not the timing. If the timing was an issue compression would be off.

He missed something here. I would look for someone else to help you with your checks.

You need to start with basics.

1. Spark

2. Fuel pressure. Need exact reading not it is okay.

3. Compression. Need exact numbers.

If you cannot do it yourself, I would consider a mobile tech to at least do this portion of the testing.

Oh, sorry to hear that.

Most likely you have damaged valves from that issue. Then I would like to know what caused it to break. They do not just break for no reason.

I would be ready to consider changing the engine at this point.
