Cylinder three misfire

When I cold start it the engine light will be off and it runs like a champ, but if I shut it off like for example go in to Walmart to get groceries and come back out to leave the engine light will be on and I will mis on cylinder 3 and will idle rough.

Hello thanks for using 2CarPros. the first thing to check on that number 3 cylinder is the ignition coil. When they heat up is most likely when it will act up, we'll start there. Here is a guide to help you check the coil. If you go to step number 22 in this guide, you can check the spark with a test light. If it's weak, compare it to a known good coil on the car.

But check that ignition coil first and see if it has weak spark while it's acting up. Maybe take if for drive and get it hot, then run the tests. Another very fast test is swap the ignition coil to a different cylinder and see if the misfire follows to that cylinder. Hope this helps, let us know the results. Thank you.
