1995 Honda Civic 95 Civic Headlights Delay Coming on when C

I have a 95 Civic and the colder it gets, the longer the delay between turning on the headlights and them actually coming on. When it is 40 or 50 degrees, it's momentarilly. 20 or 30 degrees, up to 30 seconds. Colder than that, could be minutes.

Relay Switch?

Thank you for the donation.

I believe your vehicle is equipped with Daytime Running Lights and the most likely cause is the DRL Control Unit. It could be bad connections or a faulty unit that is affected by the cold.

Thanks for the reply - but the car is not equipped with daytime running lights. I just recently bought the car for my son, and the owner did mention it, but he had no clue what the cause was. Any other thoughts?

That seems strange as the headlight circuits are straightforward with no relays employed.

Does the passing lights works?
When lights are turned on, before they light up, does the dash high beam indicator shows?
Has the headlights wiring been modified? Additional relays? HID?
