Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 170,k miles

i gotta change out my old water pump. the old one is leaking and just done in better words. but my real problem is i dont know how to change the timing seal. i was told any time you change the water pump theres a timing seal that must be replaced also.Im not exactly posistive if the mechanic said it was a timing seal oer timing belt because he had a heavy accent. but i really appreciate if someone could tell me how do i replace the timing seal or belt

He meant timing belt. There is no 'timing seal'. There are crank and cam seals that you should replace only if they are leaking. There is also a seal for the water pump that comes with the new part that you should obviously replace. That's about it.
