Clutch replacement

86 honda accord 71k miles 2dr lxi 2.0l 4cyl
rpm increases dramatically in 3-4 gear when accelerator is pressed more than 1/2 way. I was told clutch is slipping. Is this so?
also, are oem parts for this model much better than aftermarket?

Yes that sounds like a clutch problem. I stick with OEM equivalent. 76K miles on the car and the age. Either a lot of town driving or someone rides the clutch pedal a bit. I would look at the driving habits.
