Hello,

Earlier today I gave a co worker a jump. I now noticed that when I try to turn on the high beams by pushing the lever forward, it turns off all headlights. When I try to flash the high beams by pulling the lever, the regular headlights stay on, but high beams do not. I do no know if the jump I gave earlier is related or not, but it is the only change today. Everything worked normally last night.

HI and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

Anything is possible, but as long as the cables were connected correctly, it would not have caused this.

Lets start with the basics. Each head light have separate fuses. One is for high beam and the other for the low beam. I need you to locate the fuse box under the hood. Open it and check fuses 63 and 67. One is left high beam and the other right high beam.

If they check good, locate relay number 72. That is the high beam relay. Switch it with another relay in the box that has the same part number and see if that changes things.

If that does nothing, you will need to check for power to the light sockets. It is not uncommon for one light to burn out and the driver not realize until the other goes bad too. If there is power to the socket, replace the bulb.

Here are links that discuss how to check fuses, replace fuses, how to check wiring, and how to use a test light. They will be helpful when checking things.

Also, I attached pictures of the under hood fuse box and its legends to help you locate the fuses.

Please feel free to ask questions if you have them. I hope this helps.

Take care,
Joe
