how do I change the slave cylinder on clutch assy.

Buy a haynes or chiltons manual. they have a step by step set of instructions.
unfortunately if you are refering to the correct part, the slave cylinder on the 97 is located inside the bellhousing of the transmission. so the transmission has to be removed.

then getting the slave cyl off is just 2 bolts and the one hydraulic line.
the new slave cyl sometimes come with a tool to remove the line.
you can do it with a screw driver. but I can't remember how.
