I have a 1999 gmc jimmy it will start when you prime it but it wont stay running, we replaced the fuel pump today. Im at my wits end im a single mom with no other place to turn please help me

Have you actually checked the fuel pump pressure at the fuel rail? Here is a how to:

Check it and let me know what the pressure is. IF you need a gauge, many parts stores will lend or rent the tool.
