I was driving down the road, and my taurus started to bog out, I let off the gas and it would stay running but as soon as I gave it gas it would bog out and finally just stopped running. I thought I might have run out of gas but I put more in and it still wouldnt start. This is a Flex fuel vehicle. I heard the pump click but it didn't sound like it was turning on completely. Any ideas? If it is a bad fuel pump, can I use a non flex fuel pump as a substitute to try and save some money?

Pressure test confirm pump is no good? That's one of the problems with flex-fuel vehicles, the cost of parts. Obviously you've noticed how expensive the fuel pump is, 850 aftermarket to 2k dollars for a Motorcraft pump, totally uncalled for. Any savings, real or imagined, more then offset by cost of parts and pieces.
