1996 Ford Taurus Engine Torque

Engine problem
1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150k miles

I just installed new rings and bearings. The engine is fully assembled and I used an old torque wrench with an extension attached and terminated with a 3/4" socket to turn the nut that holds the pulley on and turned. It turned, but it seemed hard to turn. Is this normal?

Was there any old loctite on the threads? If so, it will be hard to turn!
