1996 Ford Taurus V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Where is the runner and how hard is it for a diy to repair?

First, lets recheck that engine size, there are three different V6's used, no V8's, get the size for me and I will post some info, the size is on a white label under the hood, it's either 3.0 sohc 3.0 dohc or 3.8. If it's an actuator, it's not too hard, but if the runner needs changing, the intake must be removed.

Merlin2021,

Yes, there is an 8 cyl. 32 valve 3.4L engine in the 1996 Ford Taurus SHO. I won a $25 bet on this car with a Ford parts man a few years ago. Again, the runner on the left bank is stuck. Can you help?

3.4 it is! Looks like the IMRC is in the same place on this engine as 3.0 on the left valve cover, try removing the actuato and see if it moves...any codes?Post all you have please. I did do an exhust job on one of these way back!
