1996 Ford Taurus Electric Fans

The fans continue to run after the car is turned off. The fans continue to run when the battery is disconnected I have to disconnect the fan cables before they will stop. I bought the two relays but I cannot determine which ones they are under the hood or the dash. Can there be something else wrong besides the relays or if it is even the relays?

(The fans continue to run when the battery is disconnected) something is wrong with this statement
if no power to supply the fan I can not see how is it going to continue to work

if pulling the relay stops it try new relay

Where are they located and what do they look like? Under the hood there are two black and three grey. None of the descriptions say fan. There is a 40 amp fuse for the fan. Same thing under the dash.
