1999 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

how to remove old fule filter and replace it becaus I having truble gettiing the old one off. Mines has two metal clips on each end of the filter I removed them and try to pull the hoses out or from the filter but they wont come off from the filter. How do I remove the filter. Mines doses not have scews or nuts or metal clamps. It usese some kind of metal clips to hold the hoses to the fule filter. I would gladly be willing to donate some cash but I recently got lay off form my job. And just trying to keep my truck runnig so I can find work to support my family. To whom it may concerne. Not sure if they are all the same but if its a flex fuel like mine. You need the plastic wrench insert that fits inside the inlet side of the fuel line and the filter. Rust is an issue. Im changing mine right now. Ive been soaking it with WD40 and rinsing the crud out. If I had a lock-line pliers Im sure I would be done already. What a pain

Hello,

Did you releave the fuel pressure. If not will be hard to get off. To releave pressure you can if multi-port, look on fuel rail for what look like a tire valve, take cap off and use something to press the core down to releave pressure, just make sure you have a towel/rag under it to catch the fuel. Also on some models you can just remove the gas cap to releave pressure.
