I replaced the clutch in my mustang about 6 months ago. Recently the clutch release lever has been slipping off the pivot point. I have pulled the transmission off 3 times trying to figure out why it continues to come off the pivot point with no success. When it slide off I am able to jack the car up and release the cable and slide it back into place. It is starting to happen more often. When I replaced the clucth I also replace the pivot ball because there was wear on it. It is at the same level as it was to start.

I replaced both the fork release lever and the pivot ball. The spring clips are in good shape and not damaged they are brand new.

Then something is incorrect if it keeps falling off. Did you match up the pivot balls before installation to be sure they were the same?

Is the cable tight against the fork? If not the automatic adjusting mechanism on top of the clutch pedal may not be holding proper tension against it

Ok, the cable needs to hold a little bit to keep it from falling off
