1994 Ford Explorer Transmission

In my Ford Explorer it does not want to shift from first gear to second gear unless I let off the accellerator it does not slip or do this in any of the other gears do I need to have my transmission rebuilt?

Has the check engine light come on? It sounds like a bad shift solenoid.

WHat I would like for you to do is take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. Most will do it for free, and it could tell us what is wrong with the transmission.

Do that and let me know what you find.
